I've been a Videotron (now CWC) customer since January last year.
The only reason I joined them was because it opened up internet access at home to me (free calls) - all my relatives are on BT lines so I can not use my free calls on them.
I was pestered on and off for about a month after CWC took over - they used to phone us at home offering their TV packages. It didn't take me long to
see what they were trying to do. The last call I received was at 8:30 PM one evening. I told them (in a very clear way) not to call me about their TV services again and when I asked if they ever intended to remove my local free calls, they said they would always honour my original Videotron contract.
I think it is silly to write to them saying that I will leave if they remove my free calls - that is probably what they want those of us, who use the unmetered calls for Net access, to do.
I will, instead, state that I will do everything in my power to sue CWC if they decide to terminate my free local calls or change any other part of my Videotron contract.
At the very least, I will damage their image by arranging for peaceful (and highly visible) demonstrations to be held outside their offices in Hammersmith, I live just down the road from them :-}.
